About Basic B Complex – 60 Capsules

Many B vitamin supplements use forms your body must convert before they’re useful, and some people have trouble with that conversion.

Thorne Basic B Complex is built to bypass that bottleneck by using active, tissue-ready forms (e.g. methylcobalamin for B12, L-5-MTHF for folate). That means your body can directly use the nutrients without relying heavily on metabolic “activation” steps. This formula also includes choline to support neurological signaling.

Thorne has designed the formula to be clean (gluten-free, no unnecessary fillers) and effective for individuals who want high-quality, practical B vitamin support.

  • Riboflavin (Vitamin B2, as Riboflavin-5′-Phosphate) – 10 mg: Acts as a cofactor in energy production and antioxidant enzyme systems, supporting cellular repair and mitochondrial health.
  • Niacin (as Niacinamide + Niacin) – 140 mg total: Essential for NAD/NADP coenzymes in redox reactions, critical in cellular energy and detoxification pathways.
  • Vitamin B6 (as Pyridoxal-5′-Phosphate) – 10 mg: The active form of B6 participates in amino acid metabolism, neurotransmitter synthesis, and homocysteine regulation.
  • Folate (L-5-MTHF, 400 mcg folate equivalent / 667 mcg DFE): The bioactive folate form reduces the need for conversion and supports methylation, DNA synthesis, and vascular health.
  • Vitamin B12 (as Methylcobalamin) – 400 mcg: form already ready for use in the body, supports red blood cell formation, nervous system maintenance, and methylation.
